We've been talking a lot lately about the dynamics of Limit Theory -- the many ways that the systems of LT will interact to create the parts of the game that move without direct control from the player.
Gamasutra today very helpfully posted a link to the video of Will Wright's GDC 2003 lecture on dynamic systems -- the part of the game between the aesthetic high-level vision and the hands-on active mechanics.
Sadly, the video requires Flash, so I can't preview it for you. (Thanks, Steve.) But I'm confident that there's plenty of good stuff here in both the technical and inspirational senses.
There's also a set of slides to go with the lecture (and these are readable).
Enjoy!
